Hospital Chaplain, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, GA, Sep 2007 – Present

• Heavy on-call rotation of a 550 bed hospital including Level 2 Trauma Center, Oncology Unit and Heart Center; daily coverage of Women floors, NICU, ICU and a medical floors.
• Assessed spiritual needs of patients, hospice clients and families and developed spiritual care plans to meet such needs
• Participated in weekly interdisciplinary care team meetings
• Teamed up with doctors, nurses, social workers, and caregivers in providing holistic care to patients and hospice clients of diverse background
• Effectively used my military background to enhance my connections with veterans and their families
• Provided spiritual care to patients and families and staff during on-call shifts throughout the hospital
• In coordination with the Archdiocese of Atlanta I established a Catholic Care program for the Northeast Deanery at Northeast Georgia Medical Center consisting of:
  • Working with eight widely dispersed parishes in providing sacramental services to their parishioners at NGMC.
  • When appropriate (HIPAA) provided updates to the individual pastors.
