OBJECTIVE: Achieve a position working with people in a wellness setting utilizing my knowledge of and experience in exercise physiology.
SKILLS: Blood Pressure measurement, ECG placement and interpretation, operation of cardiac monitoring equipment, ability to conduct stress tests including the Bruce Protocol and VO2 max and submax tests, blood collection for the purpose of blood sugar analysis and blood lipid tests. I feel I have good people skills and the ability to motivate patients to exercise. I have experience working with a wide range of exercise machines and equipment.
RELEVENT EXPERIENCE:
I am currently promoting corporate wellness and health through a variety of fitness classes and individualized workout plans. Administering fitness checks, designing and assisting clients with their personal training programs affirms my abilities to effectively supervise a diverse client population in exercise settings while ensuring safe and effective exercise planning.
In addition, I have been fortunate enough to assist Dr. Helaine Alessio at the University of Miami, in her research on cardiovascular risk factors and the relationship with hearing. Admistering tests and analyzing the relationship between CV risk factors and hearing loss in adults, has enhanced my skills in patient care and safety while providing me with additional expertise in CV risk factor assessment. Equally as important, this experience required effective communication and collaboration with professors and adult participants.
Additional internships at The Christ Hospital and Mount Carmel St. Ann’s working with coronary heart disease patients has also expanded my knowledge of interventions. Incorporating patient nutrition, goal setting and counseling techniques, I assisted patients recovering from heart disease/surgery.
