I am interested in a current Cytology supervisor / Cytotechnologist position at your laboratory.
During my service in the USAF, I was trained at the AFIP as a Histotechnician, and later I joined the VA pathology department as a civilian. My duties at the VA included autopsy protocol and cytology specimen processing, working with Pathology Residents. This first career drove me to attend cytology school at San Diego Sharp Memorial Hospital in 1989, where I was certified by the ASCP.
As a licensed cytotechnologist I did work for various reference laboratories.
In 1999 I did join Kaiser Permanente North Holly Wood regional reference laboratories.
My work was GYN and non-gyn conventional and liquid based slides screening.
Since 2002 I did manage the cytology preparation section with 20 lab assistants where we received and processed conventional, SurePath liquid based gyn and nongyn specimens.
My duties included scheduling, work flow, evaluating productivity and quality of work.
I am certified in the following:
<!–[if !supportLists]–>- <!–[endif]–>the ThinPrep Pap test September 11, 2008,
<!–[if !supportLists]–>- <!–[endif]–> the BD SurePath liquid-based Pap test January 14,2010
<!–[if !supportLists]–>- <!–[endif]–>The BD Focal Point GS imaging system, May 26, 2011
I would like to join your Laboratory/Pathology department at this time.
Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions.
Sincerely
