OverviewCenturion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Tennessee Department of Correction. 

We are currently seeking a full-time Utilization Management Medical Director to join our team at Regional office in Nashville, Tennessee.

Available Shift

8am-430pm

Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

The Utilization Management Medical Director provides the utilization management (UM) clinical direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements of a specific correctional contract. This role mentors and evaluates the team-delivered medical services for patients as well as the Utilization Management team and promotes the culture of right care by utilizing the evidence-based standard of care and advocating the right interventional timing and quality outcomes. In partnership with the contract’s medical leadership, the Utilization Management Medical Director represents correctional healthcare to the client and the contracted providers in setting the correctional standard for managed health care.

Qualifications

  • Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
  • Current license to practice medicine in applicable state required-Tennessee
  • Board certification or board eligible for certification in medical specialty if required by assigned contract
  • Must have and maintain an active, non-restricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
  • Must receive approval of Credentialing Review Committee if review requested
  • Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
  • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a medical physician in a clinical setting; supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in a correctional health setting or institutional setting preferred
  • Personal computer skills including software such as Microsoft Office
