Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of an RN, performs monitoring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects
for artifacts.
Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional
conditions to nursing staff.
Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Answers telephone and call lights, referring questions/complaints through the proper channels.
Notifies physicians of consults / admissions.
Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to
work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
