Acknowledged by US News & World Report as one of the nation’s top neuroscience departments and part of the Medical Center’s Comprehensive Stroke Center, 5 Ardmore Tower East is a 26 bed neuroscience unit. Patient population includes patient with brain tumor resections, back/neck surgeries, VP shunt revisions, stroke and other neurosurgical diagnosis. All rooms are private; the unit has its own physical therapy gym where patients can work towards their rehab goals. 5 Ardmore has the capability to monitor patients using cardiac telemetry. The ideal applicant must have excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
JOB SUMMARY: Supports assigned unit by performing clerical duties such as secretarial, receptionist and other designated activities. Provides indirect care following physician and nursing orders to achieve the highest standards of age/developmentally specific care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Completion of a unit secretary course or equivalent preferred. Clerical experience preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: N/A
1. Completes clerical duties for patient scheduling, admissions, procedures, transfers, surgeries,
discharges and deaths under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
2. Handles and screens incoming calls and transmits messages as necessary.
