  • SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
    • Intra/Inter-departmental; works closely with Physicians and their office staff as well as Radiologists, medical imaging staff and other support staff in clinic and hospital setting, To include the department control/RIS-PACS administrator; patients, families and other visitors. Sound awareness of customer and patient needs and works actively to maintain patient satisfaction. Can provide customer service recovery techniques to improve patient/customer satisfaction
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
    • EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED
      EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: One year experience as ultrasound technologist. The individual must have a knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging; knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment, taking vital signs, maintaining records and recording test results as well as proficient in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Individual must have the ability to maintain quality control standards. Must have an ability to react calmly and effectively to emergency situations, ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Individual should be able to communicate clearly.
      CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: Current CPR certification. Current American Registry of RadiologicTechnologist (ARRT) registration OR advanced certification in ultrasound from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required. Color Blind testing is required
      PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires full range of body motion, including but not limited to: handling and lifting patients and equipment as needed, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination, involves at times standing for long periods of time and occasionally lifting and carrying heavy items. Employee may be exposed to bodily fluids and frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment. May be stressful at times, interaction with others is constant and interruptive at times. Must be accurate in detail and flexible to daily work duties.
