Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at Sussex Correctional Institution located in Georgetown, Delaware. 

Available Shift

Rotating four weekdays (8a-4:30p) and one mid-shift (11:30a-8p) Monday-Friday; 40hrs/week. Some weekend shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor is responsible for coordinating all substance abuse/addiction program activities in a correctional setting. This includes providing intake, assessment, treatment planning, and group and individual counseling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred
• Delaware Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification required within 2 years of hire
• Minimum requirement of Associate's degree in Psychology, Human Services, or related field and possess a Delaware CADC
• Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification required
• Ability to pass and maintain a security background clearance
