Qualifications

Required:

  • Current California LVN License
  • Current and valid CPR certification with ability to administer CPR
  • Current and valid Pals certification
  • Possession of EKG, Phlebotomy and IV certification
  • Previous pediatrics or cardiology experience
  • More than 6 months experience as an LVN in the current position or has relevant clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of basic computer fundamentals
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate English vocabulary and grammar
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptoms and life threatening medical problems
  • Ability to skillfully administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications
  • Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and drug refills
  • Ability to assist in medical emergencies and office procedures within ones scope of practice
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, ancillary departments, physicians and co-workers in a courteous
  • Ability to be flexible in working both back and front office to facilitate smooth workflow, work overtime in cases of emergency
  • Ability to perform accurate quality control and patient sample testing for waived tests

Preferred:

  • Ability to schedule patient appointments and encounter patients using Epic (Care Connect) Electronic Medical System.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
