Summary:
The Server Based Computing Specialist II (SBCS2) serves as the administrator for all servers, operating systems and general applications in a server based computing environment. This role encompasses the traditional support functions as well as tracking server activity, performing upgrades of software, maintaining computer hardware and operating systems, addressing questions about advanced technical problems, and improving efficiency by evaluating system network functions. In addition, the SBCS2 is responsible for e-mail administration, advanced troubleshooting and security/contingency planning. The SBCS2 is expected to act proactively to implement measures to maximize system availability and security. System security, availability and user-friendly delivery of content and applications are the most direct measure of success in this position. Most work is completed during regular business hours. Occasionally, with new system upgrades or server fixes, work must be completed during odd hours of the night or on weekends.

• Skills: Requires strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, leadership skills, presentation skills, organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and provide attention to detail. Requires strong customer service orientation. Demonstrates computer based software skills with an aptitude for enhancing those skills in the area of health-care systems / modules. Ability to work with minimal direction on assigned projects. Ability to handle multiple priorities, and lead / facilitate project groups.
• Education/Experience: Prefer 4 year B.S. degree in Information Technology or a related field and 2 years of related experience or 4 years of related experience.
• Certification: Epic certification is preferred, if required for the position. If not pre-certified and Epic certification required, then certification is required six months post hire date. All certifications required for this position must be current as a condition of continued employment.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
