You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation, security, and performance of our IT systems, enabling us to provide exceptional healthcare to our community.

Position Summary: As a Server Administrator II, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of both Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory Services, VMware, Citrix, and various application servers. You will ensure optimal performance and security while adhering to industry best practices. This role involves monitoring server performance, applying updates, implementing security protocols, and participating in a rotating on-call schedule. You will collaborate closely with IT professionals such as application analysts, network engineers, and security specialists to guarantee a secure and seamless IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stage, install, and configure server hardware and software for both physical and virtual environments.
  • Administer core server technologies such as AD DS, DNS, SCCM, and DHCP.
  • Troubleshoot server issues and perform intermediate-level administration.
  • Manage enterprise storage, networking technologies, and security best practices.
  • Implement enterprise backup solutions, anti-virus, Citrix, and vSphere/VCF virtualization.
  • Proactively assist with server vulnerability scanning and remediation to ensure security and reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to plan and implement projects, ensuring proper system design and performance.
  • Partner with application owners for system deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in a periodic on-call rotation to address critical IT issues outside regular business hours.
  • Monitor ITSM ticket queues and resolve server/application communication and performance issues.
  • Provide cross-functional training to team members on newly implemented technologies.
  • Work as a primary or contributing team member on multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with Service Desk, Desktop Support, and other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration, documentation, and audits.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of server administration experience in a medium to large-scale IT environment (200+ server nodes).
  • 3-5 years of desktop support experience in a large enterprise environment (1,000+ desktop nodes) may substitute.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of relevant IT experience.

Certifications:

  • VMware VCP, Citrix CCA, or equivalent certifications.
