Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.Assist preparation, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.Assists in administration and coordinating of long and short range planning activities. Develops strategic planning, operational and financial goals, objectives, policies and procedures.Cultivates relationships with regional hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Negotiates affiliation agreements and provides ongoing support for these relationships.Recommends organizational responses to challenges that arise and gives periodic reports of regional activities.Active participation in professional organizations and participates in community activities and maintains an interest and an updated knowledge of current trends and developments in healthcare.Performance review includes recognition of active participation in briefs, debriefs, huddles, learning boards, and executive patient safety rounds.
Required SkillsMinimum EducationBachelor’s Degree RequiredMaster’s Degree PreferredAn equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements. Candidates with knowledge and skills gained with an advanced degree, as well as those with experience gained through many years of management experience in a variety of administrative rolls are also considered to be qualified to hold this position.Required SkillsRequired critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum five years in healthcare management or related field.Imaging Leadership experience strongly preferred.
