  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills required
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Considerable knowledge of scientific principles and research methodology
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of human subject research ethics
  • Working knowledge of data management tools
  • Experience with electronic systems – clinical research management system (CRMS) and electronic health records (EHR)
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to obtain and convey information clearly, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to compose and create logical and grammatically correct correspondence
  • Excellent word processing skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow through on a task involving a myriad of steps and which must be approved at various levels before leading to completion
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision and set priorities in order to meet varying demands, changes in priorities and competing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff members, medical center employees and physicians
  • The ability to represent the Department in a professional and positive manner
