The Transfer Nurse acts as the central contact for the Transfer Center for the Department of Medicine, working closely with DOM faculty, chief residents, and fellows, with assisting in the coordination of patient transfers from community hospitals to general medicine services at Ronald Reagan/Santa Monica Hospitals and MICU (medical intensive care unit) patients to Ronald Reagan Hospital. The incumbent is also involved in quality and process improvement projects and initiatives surrounding the transfer process at UCLA. Incumbent must have a strong clinical background to be able to coordinate patient care needs.
