The RN will apply critical thinking processes for identification and scoring of identified and potential risk factors of surgical patients, and collaborate with the surgical team for pre-operative assessment, recommendations and management.  Throughout the evaluative process, the RN will teach and instruct patients on pre-operative care management and coordinate care with the physician, patient and staff.

The RN is responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow, clinical assessment, planning, initiating medical interventions and diagnostic work-ups, and communicating with patient/family/physician regarding any medical issues that may hinder or prevent surgery/treatment plans. The RN will utilize problem solving, systems planning and patient care management skills in a high volume work environment, and will complete approximately 1 or more patient charts an hour.
