Job Summary:  The Anticoagulation Clinic RN is responsible for the delivery of focused and precise patient care in a clinic setting. The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team responsible for delivering direct and indirect care utilizing the nursing process according to the standards of the American Nurses Association (ANA). The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing health status, developing and executing interventions collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. The Registered Nurse delegates those interventions which may be performed by others, supervises as appropriate, and provides education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The Registered Nurse acts as the patient’s advocate, promotes teamwork with staff, providers, and personnel in other departments; and supports the values of the Anticoagulation Clinic.



  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of medical surgical experience or 1 year anticoagulation management experience preferred.
  • ICU/ED experience desirable.
  • Unencumbered license to practice as RN in Maine
  • Current BCLS Certification.
  • Experience in POC testing preferred
  • Approved Certification in Anticoagulation Therapy Management or successful completion of Anticoagulation Therapy Management Certificate within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.



Skills:  Computer literate using Windows based programs, Microsoft Word and Excel .
