  • POSITION PURPOSE: Two to three sentences describing the overall purpose of the position.
    • • Serves as a resource and supervisor for all members of the respiratory therapy team. Responsible for performing all aspects of Respiratory Therapy.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maximum of ten functions in order of percentage of time spent on functions from longest to shortest; do not list anything that does not represent at least 10% of the job’s time. Please include supervisory responsibilities.
    • 1. Performs direct patient care on the patient care floors while participating in daily operational activities as necessary.

      2. Demonstrates competency and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

      3. Helps to train, educate, and set up education for all current and new staff for the Respiratory Service Area.

      4. Aids in the budgeting process and helps to maintain the budget.

      5. Assists with payroll edits and approvals of the respiratory department.

      6. Performs performance reviews and coaching of respiratory department.

      7. Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients, patient's family, physicians, co-workers and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.

      8. Perform and teach the following as needed: Outpatient and Inpatient EKGs, Pulmonary Function Tests, and oximeter titration walks.

      9. Ensuring appropriate staffing by creating and maintaining staff schedule. Assists in the interviewing and selecting of staff. Trains (acts as educator) on proper techniques/procedures and assesses competency.

      10. Identifies clinical and interdepartmental problems and resolves conflicts appropriately.

      11. Participates on committees and special projects. Collects, tabulates, interprets data; writes reports for committees and projects.

      12. Develops and implements quality analysis and quality improvement programs within Respiratory Therapy.

      13. Role models for the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.

      14. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
    • Experience:
      • o Four years of clinical and leadership experience required.
    • License(s):
      • o State of Colorado Respiratory Therapist license required
    • Certification(s):
      • o Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required

        o Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association required

        o Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

        o Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
        o Neonatal Resuscitation

        Provider (NRP) required

    • Computer / Typing:
      • o Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
    • Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
    • Education:
