Job Summary

Responsible for greeting patients in a welcoming, professional manner, registering patients, posting charges, accepting payments, filing medical results & records appropriately, and answering telephones promptly.

Education

High School Diploma or GED General Studies required

Experience

Prefer 2+ Medical Office

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to be personable, tactful, and professional in dealing with customers is required.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills required.
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment required.
  • Ability to use computers and have understanding of computer systems.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills preferred.
  • Greets patients in a friendly, service-oriented, professional manner and issues appropriate forms for registration according to patient type - workers comp, insured, occupational health, etc.. Exhibits high standards of customer service at all times.
  • Schedules appointments for physicians according to policy.
  • Exhibits thorough knowledge of registration system and payor payment requirements, e.g. patient co-pays, deductibles, etc.
  • Enters new patient data and updates established patient data quickly and accurately.
