Our 540 Bed Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital offers a wide range of services and is part of an organization with 6 acute care facilities, over 10,000 team members and 400 volunteers. Our Orthopedic Trauma unit has 28 beds with Tele monitoring capability. This team works with Medical Surgical Telemetry cases focusing on Ortho Trauma.  Injuries range from falls, motor/motorcycle collisions, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, forklift injuries, crush injuries, pathological fractures, etc.  The nurses on this team may work with chest tubes, NG tubes, skeletal/buck’s traction, external fixators, traches, etc.  The leadership for this team began as a staff nurse with SRHS and has an awesome clinical background to include education.  She has worked as the leader of this team since it was developed and only a fabulous, encouraging leader, but also a great teacher with a wealth of clinical knowledge.  This team loves new grads and is very supportive of team members utilizing 7 Tower Ortho Trauma to build a foundation and springboard into a specialty (or to be like other nurses on our team and enjoy your career within Ortho Trauma’s awesome team).  Our complicated trauma case types enables our unit to grow SRHS Strong RNs!

The Registered Nurse recognizes, and addresses patient needs or issues to achieve the highest level of patient satisfaction, quality, and outcomes. The Registered Nurse provides, directs, and coordinates professional nursing care for all patients following established clinical nursing standards and practices.  The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient.  The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.  Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Licenses/Certificates:
• Current RN License to practice in South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement.
• Certifications required upon hire or prior to patient care being rendered
Med Surg: BLS and ACLS
