Overview

Seeking a skilled and passionate registered nurse with a proven track record of excellence in perioperative care. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to deliver exceptional care to surgical patients, guiding them through every stage of the nursing process—from thorough assessment to meticulous evaluation. Responsibilities

Embark on an exciting journey where your skills and expertise shine in the fast-paced world of perioperative care. As a valued member of our team,  you'll:

  • Masterfully execute scrub and surgical routines, ensuring impeccable aseptic technique and anticipating the needs of surgeons with precision.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art autoclaves and steris units, conducting daily tests and meticulously caring for instruments to uphold the highest standards of sterilization.
  • Take personal accountability for the handling and maintenance of our department’s inventory, ensuring optimal care and judicious use of supplies and equipment.
  • Engage the nursing process to its fullest, from comprehensive patient assessment to thoughtful care planning, implementation, and continuous evaluation of patient response.
  • Demonstrate not only practical skills but also convey a deep understanding of perioperative nursing principles, elevating your contributions beyond the routine.
  • Champion thorough and accurate documentation, ensuring every aspect of intraoperative patient care is meticulously recorded.
  • Showcase your expertise in patient positioning, adhering to universal precautions and preventing complications like nerve damage or skin breakdown.
  • Assist in surgical counts and maintain up-to-date preference sheets, collaborating closely with colleagues to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Display exemplary critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skills, ensuring seamless operations within the perioperative arena.
  • Drive efficiency in turnaround times between procedures, actively contributing to a smooth and effective workflow from setup to cleanup

Qualifications

Must possess current hospital experience (within the past 5 years) or be a new graduate (within the last 2 years).

Must be knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application--assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Prefer minimum of 1 year recent perioperative experience.

Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of Department Orientation.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Essential:
* RN - Registered Nurse
* BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

* RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program
