Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. BSN preferred.
  • Experience: Cardiovascular surgical experience and OR experience preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state. BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS and conscious sedation credentials required. CNOR certification preferred.
  • Additional skills required: Highly trained to perform open-heart surgical procedures. Highly specialized in cardiovascular procedures and acuity, instrumentation, and breadth of knowledge. Ability to manage the increased workload that may be expected in the CVOR. Ability to take high volume of on call for cardiovascular cases. Ability to handle difficult situations and effectively perform under the highest levels of stress. Ability to accommodate varying schedules. Ability to effectively work and manipulate equipment such as tandem heart, balloon pump, cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machines, and perfusion cannulation. Med-Rad injector skills. Be able to perform operations of hybrid CV suite, equipment and bed.
