Job Description

We are potentially hiring for a qualified civilian Psychiatric Technician Outpatient to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Naval Medical Center San Diego in California.

 

 

 

• Status: Full-time

• Schedule: Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30am-9:30pm; for either an 8 or 12-hour period. Each shift will be extended to include an uncompensated meal break to cover a full 8 or 12 hours of service. Shifts not to exceed 80 hours per 2-week period.

The Psychiatric Technician Outpatient must have the following qualifications:

 

• Degree: Certificate. Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirement of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians or completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients.

 

• Experience: Have a minimum of 12 months experience within the last 18 months as a Psychiatric Technician or LPN/LVN providing care in a mental healthcare setting.

 

 

 

 

• Due to contractual obligations with the DoD, Health Care Workers performing under this contract must either be a U.S. citizen, or as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, either a noncitizen national of the United States, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or alien authorized to work in the United States.
