Summary

Project Manager – WORC Initiative Grant

Location: Spartanburg, SC
Position Summary:
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the implementation and management of a 3-year grant designed to develop workforce skills for students through our state-of-the-art simulation lab. Working closely with the Workforce Development team, the Project Manager will ensure the successful delivery of grant objectives while advancing equity and opportunity for the rural healthcare workforce in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties.

WORC Initiative Overview:
The WORC initiative, Creating Equity and Opportunity for the Rural Healthcare Workforce in Upstate South Carolina, addresses the healthcare workforce shortage in the Appalachian region of upstate South Carolina. Through innovative partnerships with schools, colleges, and community organizations, the initiative focuses on building a strong pipeline of skilled healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements:
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in project management, nonprofit administration, grant writing, or grant management.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn new software systems and databases.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records in compliance with guidelines.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Requirements:
Experience

  • 3-7 years of experience in project management, nonprofit administration, grant writing, or grant management.
  • Familiarity with federal grant management.
  • Background in workforce development or healthcare education.
  • Experience with simulation labs or healthcare training environments.
  • Proficiency in grant management software or data tracking tools.

Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) through the National Grants Management Association (NGMA).
  • Grants Management Certificate Program (GMCP).

Core Job Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the grant, ensuring alignment with guidelines and completion of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Development team to execute project activities on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate activities within the simulation lab to enhance student workforce development.
  • Monitor milestones and outcomes to ensure the project stays on track throughout the 3-year grant period.
  • Utilize strategic planning and critical thinking to guide the project to success.

Data Monitoring & Management:

  • Track participant engagement and maintain accurate records in workforce development programs.
  • Input and manage data in relevant systems while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting to support project evaluation and continuous improvement.

Grant Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed narrative reports on project activities, outcomes, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Development team to compile and submit required grant reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of all reports and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Partner with the Spartanburg Regional Foundation to prepare and monitor technical project reports quarterly.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal teams, contractors, educators, and community organizations.
  • Communicate regularly with the grant funder and Workforce Development leadership regarding progress and needs.
  • Ensure alignment between the project and institutional goals through effective communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including special projects or tasks.
