SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
This position is responsible for ensuring that the System's purchasing requisitions for supplies and services are accurately and efficiently processed each business day to satisfactorily meet the customer needs. The Coordinator will communicate requirements to vendor and confirm for accuracy; effectively and promptly resolve daily purchasing issues and exception errors; and constructively work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice variances. Also responsible for expediting backorders from vendors and verifying acceptability of subsitute product with user department; while assisting end user with sourcing of products and services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
High School Diploma required with 2+ years experience, preferably in Healthcare. Some college, preferred. Must be able to demonstrate communication, negotation and analytical skills to interact with supplying vendors, customers, and department team members. Must have a thorough understanding of purchasing, inventory control, contract, shipping, receiving, and accounts payable functions, regulations, policies, and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills and be able to work effectively with others.
