Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $95,439.68
Mid = $119,299.59
Max = $143,159.51

Summary:

The EPIC Principal Training role works with the training coordinator; application leads and application Directors to develop and maintain the training program for end users. The role is responsible for communicating training policies and procedures within the EHR build for their specific team and interacting with specialty champions and change managers. They are considered the team subject matter expert in build, decisions made, concepts and training needs for EPIC end users. Their role will be embedded in their team structure, with a reporting structure up through the Director of Training. The EPIC Principal Trainers will work collaboratively to develop curriculum, training classes, setting training requirements and using an agile approach to training delivery methods. The role will be responsible for identifying and educating Credentialed Trainers as well as superusers at specific sites. They will conduct continuing education with these roles as well as evaluate change competition and end users' challenges.

Responsibilities:

Primary Accountability

Developing role-based training content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and applications.

Designing, developing and maintaining instructional materials. Maintaining policy and procedure documentation. Incorporating feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures

 

Deliver appropriate level of instruction and competence/evaluations required to all identified end users; staff, students, affiliates, and physicians. Apply knowledge of adult learning theory and flexibility in training techniques which reach audiences of varied backgrounds and learning styles. Collaborates with Credentialed Trainers and end users to determine training needs and objectives Assist Credentialed Trainers and/or Clinical Educators in developing or modifying curriculum, content and/or materials for training programs to meet the needs of end users. Conduct, facilitate and evaluate effective computer information systems training using appropriate methodologies, strategies, and content for end users in assigned areas. Assuring that a consistent training approach is followed in training modules

 

Provides problem resolution and at the elbow support working with Super Users, Epic Analysts, Clinical Educators, Directors, Service Desk Support, Subject Matter Experts, and vendor technical support to facilitate problem resolution.

Build, tests and maintains the training environments.

 

Works closely with application experts and hospital personnel to maintain in-depth knowledge of workflow design and processes, and the important system functionality supporting the workflows.

 

Serves in mentoring of team during the development of curricula and instructional media.

 

Responsible for identifying and educating Credentialed Trainers as well as superusers at specific sites.

 

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

 

Education:
Essential:
* ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE

Other information:

Minimum Education Required:

Associate’s degree or equivalent

Education Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field

Experience Required:

3-year experience in healthcare, technology, education, or business-related field

Prior training experience on large projects with adaptive techniques

Computer Navigation proficiency

Strong public speaking / presentation skills

1 year experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Experience Preferred:

5+ year experience in healthcare setting

Detailed understanding of workflows and system configuration
