The Physician Assistant will help create and maintain a program that centers around community health resources, awareness and education to patients.
  • Practices in accordance with relevant organizational and State of Colorado Bylaws; Rules and Regulations; and Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to create and maintain Population Health standardization that align with organizational guidelines.
  • Create and establish resources for Population Health patients in Spanish speaking communities.
  • Coordinate and support the operations of the MIRA bus through the organization’s outreach program(s).
  • Demonstrate and provide process improvement plans towards minimizing Cardiac Issues within Population Health.
  • Exercises competency in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and education/counseling to assure high standards of patient care, patient satisfaction and patient safety.
  • Establish a referral-based program with Colorado Mountain Medical, Vail Health and Mountain Family for Population Health patients.
  • Display and promote professional, courteous, and collaborative interaction with patients/families, providers, staff, other Vail Health departments, and leadership in meeting patient care needs and promoting teamwork.
  • Provide staff support to the Cardiology department and Vail Health hospital as needed.
  • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Vail Health Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Two years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a related area preferred.


Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Colorado Physician Assistant License from the Colorado Medical Board is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted DEA license.


Current certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) is required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association required.

Additional Certifications as required by Medical Staff Privileges


Successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or a predecessor/successor agency acceptable to the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners required.
