Overview

The pharmacy vision is to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time, and that each pharmacy employee understands how he or she contributes to the health system’s vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families. The distribution specialist assumes responsibility for developing, implementing, and managing:

1) Processes that efficiently and effectively distribute pharmacy products across the system while controlling cost.

2) Processes that best address shortages, backorders, and waste.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates Degree Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Experience: Minimum two years hospital pharmacy technician experience Required. Minimum two years pharmacy procurement and/or inventory management experience Required
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: State pharmacy registration Required PTCB certification Required
  • Additional Skills Required: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Strong technology skills, including experience with inventory management software and analytic software applications. Ability to work well with a variety of professionals and to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Ability to gather data from various sources for reporting and analysis. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to streamline and automate processes. Strong critical thinking and problem skills. Strong relationship and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other health care professionals and lead change. Possesses consulting skills. Is teamoriented, supportive, and cooperative. Ability to continuously re-prioritize, demonstrate flexibility, and process multiple issues simultaneously. Fosters an environment that supports and respects diversity, Effective training skills. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
