Overview

 

The Manager, Community Pharmacy will manage staff, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver exceptional customer service while maximizing operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, pharmacy expertise, and business acumen to drive performance, ensure patient safety, and optimize profitability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff. Foster a positive work environment and promote team development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the pharmacy adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations, including pharmacy licensing, controlled substances, and health and safety standards.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a customer-centric environment, providing high-quality patient care, answering customer inquiries, and resolving issues effectively.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and work with suppliers to ensure timely restocking of medications and supplies while minimizing waste.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and control pharmacy budgets, manage profit margins, and ensure cost-effective operations. Analyze financial reports and develop strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
  • Medication Safety: Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure accurate prescription filling, dispensing, and patient counseling.
  • Technology and Systems: Manage pharmacy software systems for record keeping, medication tracking, and billing. Stay updated with advancements in pharmacy technology.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other medical staff to ensure seamless care for patients.
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, customer satisfaction, and staff productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Active and valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • 3+ years of pharmacy experience, with at least 1-2 years in a management or supervisory role.
