Payment Processor

Summary

The Payment Processor is responsible for manually posting high volumes of insurance and patient payments and adjustments. In addition

to manual payment posting the payment processor will be responsible for posting zero pay insurance denials and processing electronic

remittance advice (Ansi-835 files). Other duties include-

· Maintain various MS Excel spreadsheets for tracking and daily deposit/posting reconciliation.

· Resolve unidentified payments through research and assure clearing accounts are reconciled.

· Research and Resolve any payer underpayment variances

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Required: High school diploma or equivalency

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required: 2 years accounting, accounts receivable, medical office or bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience with experience in high volume data-entry, customer service, and cash handling. Good customer service skills with direct patient contact

Preferred: Experience in a healthcare environment.

Other Requirements

· General knowledge of CPT, ICD 9/10, medical terminology and billing procedures.

· 10-key by touch

· Ability to complete detail-oriented work in a timely manner.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

· Ability to prioritize workload and meet quality and production standards.

· Ability to work well with a variety of people and be a team player.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey a positive and professional image.

· Excellent typing/keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy in inputting data
