Job Summary
Responsible for scheduling appointments for patients on all schedules for The Heart Center, including appointments for physicians, midlevels, labs, Coumadin clinics, and device clinics for all locations.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Licensure or other certifications:
- Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum Experience: Applicants to this position must have a minimum of one year recent experience in a medical office setting.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Scheduling of office visit at all locations. Answers telephone with a pleasant and helpful tone using a polite greeting, identifying the practice and self and offering assistance to the caller, routes calls appropriately, scheduling appointments for patients on all schedules for The Heart Center, excluding Stress Lab. This includes appointments for physicians, midlevels, labs, Coumadin clinics, and device clinics for all locations.
- Maintain physician schedules as assigned. This includes monitoring schedules on a daily basis and up to two weeks in advance and will make changes as necessary. Monitoring MD Rotation regularly to ensure no mistakes are on physician’s schedules. Monitor daily emails and voicemails and obtain hospital discharges on a daily basis and schedule follow up appointments as requested.
- Rescheduling patients as directed by the clinical supervisor or physicians.
- As assigned, primary responsibility for SCI referrals, scheduling emails, patient prompt emails, fax referrals and hospital discharges.
- Performs other related job duties or functions as requested or assigned.
