The Mental Health Practitioner must have a working knowledge of:
Psychological functioning and deviations from normal.
Growth and development throughout the life span.
Techniques of therapeutic communication.
Management of assaultive behavior.
JCAHO and Title 22 accreditation and licensing requirements.
Policies and procedures of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital and legal requirements related to the care of patients.
Evacuation, fire and disaster procedures.
Role of members of the multidisciplinary team
