Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4—year program in related healthcare discipline or information systems. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. Holds a current State Certification in Medical Imaging. This will be an ongoing requirement Position requires 3-5 years or more of related Clinical PACS Management experience with a clear understanding of the “working” radiology environment. Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Must have a working knowledge of radiographic equipment as well as positioning techniques. Must be able to have visual acuity; manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and orally communicate. Ability to work for extended periods of time at a PC requiring concentrated mental and visual effort. Moderate/Intense. This position is responsible for coordinating all Hospital activities as necessary to ensure the successful integration and operation of Radiology computer systems to include the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Appt Scheduling application. Related responsibilities are broad encompassing policy, procedures and standards, implementation, change control, work flow, archiving and recovery, training, support of equipment, maintenance of dictionaries, security, planning, testing, report writing, and many other related activities. This position also serves as the primary liaison between Radiology and other departments and physicians on all matters related to such systems. This position has a lead role in mapping future strategies for PACS/Radiology/Appt Scheduling systems and is to participate in the development of, and be accountable for, the operating and capital budgets specific to those systems. To help assist in managing the operation of the Imaging Department to meet Hospital SSE Standards as well as to ensure quality care on all shifts. Has the ability to identify and resolve those situations, which require intervention. Will have the authorization as well as the accountability to apply all policies and procedures and corrective actions as written.
