Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a Billing Specialist who will be the face of the Surgical Services Department. This is a full time position that includes benefits.
The Billing Specialist undertakes a variety of financial and non-financial tasks in order to support accurate patient billing and revenue for the Surgical Services Department. Following GAP and other recognized standards (e.g.: SOX), the Billing Specialist enters billing related information regarding supplies, specialized or consignment equipment and implanted devices for patients undergoing surgery at our facility, ensuring all appropriate charges are captured and entered, and validating the accuracy of the information entered into the billing system.
The successful candidate will enter patient charges in the computer, develop monthly statistical reports for Surgical Services, answer telephone calls, and greet patients and guests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of Program in Discipline preferred. American Heart Association Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire and Certified Surgical Technologist and/or Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Critical skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: One (1) to Two (2) years of experience with medical billing/coding experience preferred.
