Overview
The oncology pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical, administrative, and clinical pharmacy services to both inpatient and outpatient patients requiring and choosing care from practitioners with privileges at Beebe Healthcare. Essential Job Functions: Review physician orders in the Oncology EMR for correctness based on standards of care, patient organ function, disease and all factors relating to the safe and effective use of medications. Prepare oversee and manage the safe and correct preparation of all medications for administration to patients. Evaluate and manage inventory to assure the pharmacy will have sufficient supplies to treat the scheduled patients. Evaluate the use of supportive medications. Educate staff, nurses, physicians, and patients on the use of antineoplastic medications, supportive therapies and therapies associated with non-malignant diseases and disorders. In cooperation with the staff of the pharmacy, provides prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Advises and consults with patients and families, and medical and nursing staff.

Qualifications
Knowledge: Understanding of Pharmacy practice, federal & state laws, pharmacology with an emphasis on antineoplastic therapies, Basic concepts of investigational drug therapy and the pharmacist’s role in providing and managing investigational therapies, Understanding the role and usefulness or various national standards such as those from the NCCN, ASCO, ONS, Chest Guidelines
Skills: Competency and familiarity with various computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook. Also, the ability to quickly learn or have a working knowledge of common EMR systems. The ability to prepare medications as ordered either by compounding or in a USP Chapter 797/800 clean room along with supervising and directing others in the preparation of the same.
Sterile Hazardous Compounding
1 years post-graduate clinical oncology and infusion preferred.
