Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees daily operations of the Comprehensive Sleep Program across the enterprise. Collaborates with Administrative Director regarding budget and capital equipment and physicians regarding research and patient care endeavors. Independently provides a full range of differential diagnostic and therapeutic services to pediatric and/or adult patients. Works directly with Medical Director, Administrative Director, and local hospital leadership to ensure accreditation standards are met (AASM, TJC).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree and four years related experience preferred or completion of a formal Allied Health Program in a related field. Five years clinical experience; prefer some teaching and supervisory experience.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

Registration by at least one modality of clinical Neurophysiology. Current completion of CPR course required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordination of staff and patient scheduling to ensure best patient coverage, 365 days/year.
  2. Equipment acquisition, inventory, and allocation for best patient care and alignment with service line.
  3. Troubleshoots and/or collaborates with necessary personnel to address technical issues.
  4. Creates employee and patient care development plans that align with institution and service line initiatives and vision.
  5. Ensures regulatory compliance of department.
  6. Leads educational initiatives.
  7. Represents service line.
  8. Oversees comprehensive training programs to ensure technical staff meet established standards / core competencies across the enterprise and works to create staffing models that achieve financial performance metrics.
  9. Works closely to maintain optimal functionality of sleep lab equipment, including managing relationships with vendors, WFBH IS support staff, as well as the Medical Director and sleep faculty across the WFBH enterprise.
  10. Manages and coordinates across the system programs to provide Home Sleep Testing Equipment, CPAP orders, and other workflow activities supporting the sleep program.
  11. Responsible for providing timely response / corrective action to service issues and other patient related needs.
  12. Works directly with ambulatory clinic leadership to ensure there are sufficient appointment slots in the sleep providers clinics to support the demand for consultative services and follow-up appointments.
