Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Department manager, and/or Pathologist, performs routine to high complexity laboratory testing, using established and approved protocols. Requires exercise of independent judgment and responsibility. May specialize in a given laboratory discipline(s). May perform tests on patients in various age ranges for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Understands and follows safety regulations. Evaluates causes and deviations of discrepant test results and follows the ethical code of conduct and confidentiality of Abington Memorial Hospital.
Qualifications
Relief 8 Hours/Week, Days
Education & Training:¿ Associate’s degree including a nationally accredited clinical training program or equivalent.
Experience: Not required for MT (ASCP)/MLT (ASCP) or equivalent if educational and training requirements are met.
License, Certification & Registration: MT (ASCP)/MLT (ASCP) eligibility and/or equivalent required. Must meet current regulatory standards.
Other Requirements: Professional conduct and interpersonal communication skills; manual dexterity in use of equipment.
