Job Description

We are potentially hiring for a qualified civilian Medical Laboratory Technologist, Blood Banking to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.

 

Benefits: 

• Status: Full-Time

•  Flex Work Schedule: 8, 10, or 12 hour shift - 80 hours every two weeks. Shifts based on departmental needs

The Medical Laboratory Technologist, Blood Banking must have the following qualifications:

 

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science of medical technology from an accredited institution.

 

• Education: Graduate from a medical technology program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or educational program acceptable to the American Medical Technologist (AMT).

 

• Certification: In addition to Basic Life Support, additional Certification – Current certification/registration as determined by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or AMT; includes. Blood Banking (BB); Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).

 

• Licensure: Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
• Experience: One year of experience in Blood Banking.

 

• Due to contractual obligations with the DoD, Health Care Workers performing under this contract must either be a U.S. citizen, or as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, either a noncitizen national of the United States, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or alien authorized to work in the United States
