Summary:
Arkansas Health Group (AHG) employs approximately 700 physicians and advanced practice providers in the Baptist Health System across 12 hospitals and >120 clinical practice groups. The Physician Leadership Team consists of the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Specialties, and Medical Director of Primary Care. The Specialties Medical Director will have oversight of > 80 Baptist Health medical specialty group practices.
The Specialties Medical Director (SMD) must be a physician with board certification in his/her primary discipline and have > 10 years experience in clinical practice and significant experience in an organization leadership or managerial role. A masters degree in business or health administration, or public health is not required but would bring a management acumen to the role. Other background experience in medical informatics, quality improvement and patient safety, population health, or value-based care would also be highly beneficial.
The SMD is an integral member of the AHG management team, responsible for interfacing with participating provider practices, AHG Sr. Leadership & Health System/Hospital Leadership for mission-critical programs and projects in integrated health delivery.
Other information:
Doctorate degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
Board Certification in primary discipline
> 10 years practice experience
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
