Overview

Responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process.

Responsibilities

Assessments of patients are accurate, consistently performed and are completed efficiently. Accurate documentation of continuum of care throughout the surgical process is vital. Consistently demonstrates competency in providing quality patient care utilizing safe and accurate technical skills. Demonstrates competency in the performance of all procedures routinely performed in the office. Routinely demonstrates proper technique in operating all office/medical equipment. Triaging of patients is accurate and complies with instructions rendered by provider. This is to include the answering of all patient questions and the responding to inquiries through email, phone, applicable Telehealth platforms or other means regarding Bariatric Surgery and the process. Accurately follows all provider directions and ensures patients adhere to these directions. Ensures patient understanding of the importance of following all instructions, procedures and policies to remain viable for Bariatric Surgery. Maintain responsibility for oversight of the practice’s MBSAQIP bariatric program accreditation, including: patient engagement activities, pre- and post-operative education, and all other requirements as outlined in MBSAQIP guidelines. Handles all specimens using proper techniques. Correctly labels, processes and prepares specimens for lab courier transfer to Lab. Conscious of biohazard safety as it relates to the job to include manual delivery of specimens to lab and the changing of gloves between patients. Routinely performs all nursing duties using appropriate PPE and in accordance with OSHA standards. Performs all job duties within the scope of practice and the organization's policies/procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • L.P.N./R.N., graduate of school of nursing
  • Minimum of 1 year L.P.N./R.N. experience, preferably working with Bariatric Patients preferred
  • BLS

Credentials

Essential:
* BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

Education

  • L.P.N./R.N., graduate of school of nursing
