Reporting to the Director of Laboratories, the Laboratory Assistant will provide general support to Director and program faculty in ordering, preparation and maintenance of supplies, instrumentation, and records pertinent to the operations of teaching and research laboratories, and the maintenance of a clean, safe and functional environment in the biology, chemistry, and gross anatomy laboratories, including assistance on cadaver delivery and removal days. The position also includes the opportunity to assist with laboratory course sessions under the supervision of faculty. Provide evening support to faculty or students as required.
Reports to the Director of Laboratories. It is expected that this position will be filled on an annual basis by a recent graduate of the biology, biochemistry, chemistry or pre-medical studies programs of JCLS and will thus have experience with the laboratory-based activities associated with these programs. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds is required.
Education Required: A Bachelor’s Degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or pre-medical studies.
