Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will assist in management of projects for Thomas Jefferson University. The project coordinator will successfully assist in strategic planning and implementation of projects and support university operations. The position operates across the Academic Pillars. As part of their duties, half time of this position will be to coordinate the operational functions of the Jefferson Israel Center in the Office of Global Affairs. The position is responsible to assist with collaboration projects or initiatives between the Thomas Jefferson University and institutions in Israel in the healthcare innovation, in life sciences and other international countries.

 

Essential Functions:

0.5 Office of the COO

Manages certain aspects of strategic project planning and implementation

Day-to-day interface with Jefferson faculty, management and university faculty to implement projects

Develop metrics and reporting on progress and deliverables of projects underway and measure results

Assist in strategic planning and implementation of projects and support university operations

Manages and coordinates reports and presentations to support attainment of organizational goals

Creates meeting presentation materials and briefing documents to be presented for senior level executive discussions

Coordinates and prioritizes strategic and academic projects, monitors status of action items, develops tracking tools, prepares presentation formats – all within deadlines

Analyzes and interprets data gathered to support the strategic and academic planning process and to evaluate initiatives

Interacts with co-workers, visitors and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson

 

0.5 Jefferson Israel Center

Coordinates and supports related activities of the Jefferson Israel Center

Coordinates and tracks all the projects and initiatives to ensure adherence to prescribed deadlines, milestones, and works with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate flow of information regarding inquiries, applications, requests and follow up activities.

Maintains financial records relative to grants and contracts, consultants’ time, travel and office related expenses.

Supports research project implementation through development of data collection and management tools and systems, data collection, data entry, and interim data reporting.

Conducts literature reviews, including critical reading and preparation of bibliographic databases, to support undergoing projects and initiatives.

Assists with philanthropic events in collaboration with the Institutional Advancement Office.

Prioritizing projects

Assists with annual reports and reviewing different metrics

Screening proposals for collaboration projects and applications submitted to the center

Prepares communications and correspondences between parties

Serves as a liaison and collaborates with other departments within the organization including ORA, RACE etc.

Participates in meetings, supporting with program presentations, takes minutes as instructed

Ability to provide hands-on assistance with video and audio teleconferencing including GoToMeeting, WebEx, SKYPE and/or Zoom.

Other duties as assigned.

Occasional travel to various TJU Center City locations

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

-Bachelor degree in Business Administration or health related sciences (e.g Population Health, International Studies, Global Health) required.

-Master’s degree/MBA preferred

-License/Certification: Project management related certificates preferred

 

Experience Requirements:

Prior three (3) years of experience in an administrative, health, research or international setting Prior experience with grants, research administration and IRB submissions preferred Bi-lingual proficiency preferred
