Summary:
This is corporate level director position that reports directly to the AVP - Corporate Controller. This position will have approximately 4 direct reports and 15 indirect reports. This position is dedicated to directing the functions of the Accounting Department by assisting with day-to-day processes of accounting and financial reporting. Responsible for management of the Accounting Department functions such as producing monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements, various reporting and data analytics for all Baptist Health entities in compliance with GAAP, coordinating annual financial audit and tax preparation, assist Decision Support with preparation of annual forecast/budget process, internal controls, reimbursement/cost reports, review of reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, g/l chart of accounts, manage treasury and cash controls, oversee non-patient A/R, performing HR functions for the department such as hiring, training, mentoring and staff performance evaluations. Responsible for various special projects as assigned by Management. • This position requires strong problem solving abilities and an advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in order to research, interpret and implement new accounting standards and business concepts with minimal oversight. A high level of communication, leadership and technology/computer skills is required as well as the ability to work independently with minimal oversight and in teams with non-financial personnel as well as others in the department. This position requires the ability to multi-tasks by managing various projects simultaneously.
Other Information:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation required. Masters in Accounting/ Finance/Business Administration highly preferred and healthcare experience highly preferred.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
