The Director, New Markets and Growth will drive strategic projects and business development initiatives for the organization. The incumbent will conduct strategic, market and financial analyses for existing and potential ChenMed businesses in partnership with senior management, including team members with strong backgrounds in private equity investing, investment banking, and consulting.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements the business and payer strategy for ChenMed, et al’s new and evolving markets.  Supports corporate leadership in the preservation, development and growth of market-based strategies;
  • Identifies, analyzes and prioritizes opportunities for acquisition, investment and strategic partnership, working closely with teams across the ChenMed organization;
  • Implements growth strategies targeted at the core markets that we serve today, as well as market adjacencies that represent opportunities for expansion, and leveraging modern technology to improve the patient experience.
  • Participates in new and expanding market launches with a possible future operational role in new markets. Performs analysis of new market/growth opportunities and makes recommendations to corporate leadership on key strategic and tactical decisions;
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders, leadership teams and internal departments to carry out key projects and works collaboratively to drive successful completion of tactical and strategic initiatives;
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to align and integrate corporate resources and corporate strategic business plans across the organization, including the projection of capital, operating, information technology and human resources needs;
  • Creates financial models that support market expansion endeavors. Supports financial, sales and operations reporting and analysis;
  • Supports the entire new partner life cycle including strategy/planning, pipeline development, prospecting, contract negotiations;
  • Develops relationships with payers in new markets and structures contracts to new market entry
  • Helps build the case for capital allocation decisions alongside investors and senior management team;
  • Communicates and collaborates with teams across all functional areas of the organization; supports additional projects as needed;
  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Broad functional experience in the fundamentals of strategic planning, market research and value proposition creation
  • Experience in relevant areas such as healthcare operations and managed care, project management, business development and associate training/development
  • Ability to manage a process from opportunity identification to execution
  • Financial modeling and due diligence experience
  • Organized and methodical, with a structured, data-driven approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated leadership, client management, and project management skills
  • Resourceful, self-directed, team player who demonstrates sound business judgment
  • High level of EQ and alignment with ChenMed values
  • Motivation to work in an organization that will transform care delivery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, plus a variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and presentation software
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 40% of the time
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
  • This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, project management or related field required; additional experience above the minimum will be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis
  • MBA or top-tier analyst program preferred
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital or corporate development, with exposure to the healthcare industry required
  • M&A and/or strategic partnership execution experience required
