Oversees and manages effective operation of Information Technology (IT) and ensures strategic and operational alignment with Vail Health (VH) enterprise goals and objectives with a focus on the technical operations. Serves as a key member of the leadership team and works effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Overall IT operations management with an emphasis on technical operations, service level management (internal and external), resource management, project processes and standards implementation, compliance management, incident management, technical management, information security management, IT service desk management.
  • Oversees and manages daily technical operations as well as projects in accordance with IT standards and policies.
  • Assists in development, maintenance, and oversight of annual operating and capital budgets for division IT technical operations.
  • Manages IT environments according to negotiated and established service level agreements and in accordance with standards and guidelines.
  • Responsible for vendor management to include negotiation of IT contracts, mediation of contractual disputes, SLA compliance, MOR reviews and amendments to core agreements.
  • Identifies and coordinates resolution of IT issues through problem management.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of an appropriate organizational structure and staffing capable of supporting the business and operational needs of the VH locations.
  • Assists in development, coordination, guidance, and execution of IT systems’ strategic and operational plans in alignment with VH enterprise business and IT strategy.
  • Assists in defining and managing division success criteria.
  • Ensures IT systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards, and legal requirements.
  • Enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of a disaster recovery plan.
  • Identifies and assists in the development and implementation of initiatives improving cost effectiveness, healthcare service quality, and business development opportunities.
  • Oversees the implementation and use of a measurement and reporting system that monitors appropriate metrics that leads to product/service delivery, quality improvements, and MOR review.
  • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Vail Health Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
5-10 years’ experience with direct leadership responsibility and 10-15 years of IT experience with 5- 10 in managerial capacity with a focus on either Project Management and/or Networking/Server Administration.
Bachelor’s degree required, and Advanced degree preffered.
