Job Description

Rutherford Regional Health System

The Director manages the overall operations of the Emergency Department. This position directs the staff and programs of the ED, develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for services, ensures quality of care for patients and activities of the clinical unit and assigned staff, supervises, directs, coaches and mentors staff while ensuring quality of care.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Master's Degree in related field preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, while keeping calm and take appropriate action. Ability to understand, communicate and react effectively to patient and family needs.
Certifications
BLS required
ACLS required
PALS required
TNCC required within 12 months of hire
Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) required within1 year of hire.
Handle with Care required within 3 months of hire

Licenses: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 5 years nursing experience in an Emergency Room setting
Minimum 3 years management experience required.
