Your Job:

Director Billing professional responsible for all aspects of supervision over account representatives, managed, cared and reimbursement staff.  Supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of Methodist Health System.

Your Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or healthcare administration/management.
  • 5 years medical reimbursement experience with progressive supervisory management in medical group billing
  • Specialists billing experience preferred
  • 5 – 8 years of broad-based HR experience, six of which must be at the management level
  • Prefer 3 to 5 years in a healthcare setting
  • Very strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong process orientation
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
  • Ability to provide vision and leadership
  • Ability to plan and schedule the work of others
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment

  • Establishes department objectives, policies and procedures, and workflow.
  • Monitor changes in the medical insurance industry and adjusts operating procedures and department policies accordingly.  Ensures policies are communicated and administered consistently.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and oversees daily activities of Billing Office staffs.  Develop and monitor staff productivity and quality metrics. Provide performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Establishes and reviews departmental performance to ensure efficient, proper, complete collection of earned revenues.  Drives improvement in cash collections, days in accounts receivables, aging and bad debt.
  • Teams with leaders in Operations and Clinics for continuous improvement in the revenue cycle process.  Utilize performance measures and metrics to assess all the functional areas that impact the revenue cycle.

  • Establishes and maintains all billing and financial data, including medical charge code tables, fee schedules and payer information.
  • Performs month-end closing duties in the Billing Office.  Develops and prepares detailed analyses and reports of billing and accounts receivable activity and results, including performance metrics, bad debt expense, AR aging, AR days outstanding, reimbursement and denial.  Present reports to Administration and Physicians on a regular basis.
  • Establishes and maintains all billing and financial data, including medical charge code tables, fee schedules and payer information.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and works with Information Technology department to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Special programs planning and implementation
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
