  • POSITION PURPOSE: Two to three sentences describing the overall purpose of the position.
    • The BH Specialty Services Director serves as the clinical lead for the Weiger Family Mental Health Clinic (WFMHC). Under the supervision of the Community Behavioral Health Director, this position will develop all clinical curriculum and ensure effective delivery aligned with all state, local, and federal regulations. Additionally, the Director will work closely with EVBH to maximize clinical utility and maximize payer reimbursement strategies to ensure program sustainability
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maximum of ten functions in order of percentage of time spent on functions from longest to shortest; do not list anything that does not represent at least 10% of the job’s time. Please include supervisory responsibilities.
    • 1.Serve as the Lead Clinician providing direct, intensive clinical services within the Weiger Speciality Clinic.

      2.In addition to providing direct clinical intensive outpatient services, maintains an active caseload to maximize program sustainability.

      3.Responsible for clinical curriculum development, overseeing clinic workflow, curriculum quality, and ensuring clinical compliance with all internal, state, and national standards of care.

      4.Ensure identified data is collected and disseminated to the Office of Behavioral Health, CDPHE, and other entities as applicable.

      5.Ensure comprehensive discharge plans for all patients with a prioritization of community disposition in the least restrictive environment indicated.

      6.In collaboration with the Hope Center’s Clinical Director, serve as a co-director for EVBH’s Community Intensive Stabilization Team (CIST).

      7.Ensures programming of the CIST and Speciality Clinic create a barrier-free opportunity for our most vulnerable members of the community to access services targeting intensive intervention and emotional stabilization.

      8.In collaboration with Hope Center, develop sustainable clinical protocols to prioritize the needs of those with severe and persistent mental illness.

      9.Through CIST, the WFMHC Psychologist serves as a preemptive point of contact for communication by any community member who is discharging from a higher level of community care (inpatient treatment).

      10.Serves as primary liaison for the Vail Health ED for the coordination of services for anyone who completes a 27-65 evaluation.

      11.Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.

      12.Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
    • Experience:
      • Specific knowledge, training, and demonstrated expertise in Rural Mental Health Service Provision or Community Mental Health Psychology.

        5 years progressive leadership experience in community behavioral health, communit

        y mental health, or related behavioral health experience required.
        Understanding of Colorado laws and regulations as they relate to behavioral health providers.

        Experience with developing strategies to ensure accurate and timely data collection and data reporting.

        Psychologist license by the state of Colorado required Certification(s) with 5 years of applicable behavioral health experience.

        5 years of experience in a nonprofit organization, foundation, or government agency in positions of progressively increasing responsibility.
        A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Vail Health.

        Strong customer-service focus; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to work patiently, persuasively and effectively with a wide variety of people.
        Superior organizational skills; a work style that is thorough, accurate and detail-oriented; the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.

    • Education:
      • PhD/ PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (or a closely related field) from an APA accredited program.

        Completion of APA accredited internship

        Formal Postdoctoral Fellowship preferred
