The Center Manager (CM) will help direct and oversee the development, planning, funding implementation, and tracking of the activities of the Jefferson Center for Connected Care. The Center’s mission is to innovate, implement and evaluate systems and services designed to address unmet needs that impact health outcomes of vulnerable individuals and communities.


-Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson

-Organize day-to-day activities; administer grant proposal; monitor, manage, measure, and track progress towards goals; coordinate governance and steering structures.

-Serves as the primary liaison for Jefferson’s research administration, including and not limited to the Office of Research Administration (ORA) and the Research Administration Center of Excellence (RACE), for all grant-related administration needs

-Communicate routinely with Center staff and associated faculty to identify and translate needs and priorities for future research portfolio into research opportunities.

-Works with foundations, researchers, and other collaborators to identify and cultivate potential funding sources as well as other opportunities for multi-site research projects.

-Train and supervise Center staff in technical procedures, processes and methods, data observation, documentation and management, and ensures maintenance of required research certifications; support training and career development needs of Center staff and students

-Monitor progress of research and data including timelines and budgets, ensuring high-quality results are achieved in a timely and organized manner and that all research is undertaken in accordance with current University, state and federal regulations

-Create, implement and oversee systems for collecting data on Center progress and produces semi-annual progress report


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Proficiencies):

Excellent project management skills including skills in communication, critical thinking, task management, and personal organization Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential

Ability to cultivate positive and collegial workplace relationships Dependability and attention to detail


Required Experience, Education, Certification(s), License(s)

A graduate degree and at least 3-5 years of experience in research and operational environments providing project and/or program management or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

A graduate degree is preferably in a clinical research-related field.     Proven experience in all aspects of research development from inception to execution to dissemination preferred. Previous experience in a multi-faceted, project management position involving health services or clinical research strongly preferred. Previous experience with grant writing preferred.
