Overview

Under the direction of the Manager Foundation, Operations & Strategy, the Communications and Stewardship Officer develops strategic communication and stewardship plans to demonstrate the impact of philanthropic support of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation to donors and the community. This position is an expert communicator and storyteller with experience in donor-centric communications and donor engagement.

Qualifications

Education:

 

1) Bachelor's degree in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, healthcare, or similar field.

 

Experience:

 

1) 5 years professional experience in a relevant field, preferably combining philanthropy and community engagement.
2) Extensive experience writing communications and creating content for varied audiences and occasions, including donor appeals, fundraising campaign content, promotional copy, and event promotion.
3) Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and event planning.
4) Experience in preparing presentations for executives, donors, and boards, including presenting data and insights.
5) Skilled at utilizing website CMS and writing marketing driven and donor-centric content.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

1) Ability to perform multiple duties effectively and independently, with minimal supervision in an environment of continuous change and interruptions.
2) Exceptional philanthropic writing, editing, storytelling, fact-checking and proofreading skills to deliver a message that is accurate, cohesive, and compelling.
3) Must be adept with technology including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, CMS platforms, and Collaboration Tools.
4) Must be able to work proficiently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
5) Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity.
6) Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
7) Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donors, trustees, physicians, patients, staff and management.
8) Must possess a strong understanding of donor engagement and communications.

1) None required.
