CNO / Nurse Manager - Veteran’s preferred

Position requires strong leadership skills and range of clinical experience applicable to the nursing team at a substance residential center in Texas.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee the hiring, staff development, and performance of nursing staff
  • Ensure the highest level of patient care and patient safety at all time
  • Assess the health needs of patients
  • Oversee infection prevention and control program
  • Develop and implementation of nursing policy and procedure
  • Communicate the needs of the patients of the facility to the physicians
  • Participate in court related communications regarding involuntary patients
  • Works as integral part of administrative team
  • Ability to optimize patient care by working with nursing staff. This includes evaluating current practices, reviewing alternatives, consultations with patient care managers and providing education to staff
  • Ability to make decisions on where to allocate staff and resources
  • Develop specialized interdisciplinary treatment plans after patient examinations
  • Educating patients and families on how to best manage their conditions
  • Incorporate practices to promote staff teamwork
  • Ability to analyze patient data and outcomes

Qualifications and Skills

62 Bed Inpatient Residential Facility / PHP/IOP

Required Qualifications:

Current BCLS from the American Heart Association

Current valid TX RN license

General working knowledge of TAC codes, and Texas State Regulations


Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Nursing recommended and preferred

Required Work History:

3-5 years psychiatric experience

3-5 years detox and substance use experience

3-5 years management experience

Military/veteran background preferred
